Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Mahmoud Zehri (“we”, “us”), of Doueir Main Street, Nabatieh 7104, Lebanon, covering your use of the AMI desktop application and the myamiapp.com website (together, “AMI”). By installing or using AMI you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use AMI.

1. What AMI is, in plain terms

AMI is a desktop assistant for interviews and interview practice. While a session is running it listens to audio on your computer, converts speech to text, and suggests answers you might give. It also displays those suggestions in an overlay designed not to appear in screen sharing.

Two things are worth being precise about, because they are the heart of how AMI works:

• Speech is converted to text on your own computer. The audio itself is not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never store a recording of it.
• The resulting text is sent to our servers so that an AI model can generate a suggested answer, together with the personalisation details you have chosen to enter. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent and to whom.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use AMI. You confirm this when you first open the application. You must also have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

3. Your account

The free trial does not require an account. A paid subscription does, because the subscription belongs to you rather than to one computer, which is what allows it to work on your other machines.

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for activity under your account. Tell us at support@myamiapp.com if you believe someone else has access to it. We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is being used to break these terms.

4. Acceptable use, and your responsibility

Read this section even if you skip the rest. AMI is a tool that can be used in ways that some organisations forbid. Many employers, universities, certification bodies and examination boards prohibit outside assistance during an interview, test or assessment, and some treat it as grounds for withdrawing an offer or a qualification.

Deciding whether you may use AMI in a given situation is your responsibility, not ours. You agree that you will:

• comply with the rules, terms and instructions of any interview, examination, assessment or institution you take part in, including any rule against assistance tools or third-party software;
• comply with the law where you are, including any law on recording or processing the speech of other people — in many places you need the consent of everyone in a conversation before you may record or process it, and obtaining that consent is your responsibility;
• not use AMI to impersonate another person, to misrepresent your identity, qualifications or experience, or to gain a credential you are not entitled to;
• not resell, sublicense, redistribute or share your access, and not attempt to extract, reverse-engineer or circumvent the limits of the software or of your plan.

We provide the tool. How you use it, and whether you are permitted to use it, is on you.

5. Free trial

AMI includes a one-time free trial of 40 minutes of interview time, counted only while a session is actually running. The trial is tied to the computer you install on, is enforced by our servers, and is not renewable. Attempting to reset or multiply it — for example by tampering with the application or spoofing a new machine — is a breach of these terms.

6. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns. This means Paddle, not us, is the seller of record for your purchase, collects payment, charges any applicable tax, and issues your invoice. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s own buyer terms.

• Paid plans are subscriptions that renew automatically each billing period at the price shown at checkout, until you cancel.
• The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Any applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated by Paddle based on your location and shown before you confirm.
• You may cancel at any time, from the Account tab in the application or through the billing portal linked there. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then reverts to the free tier.
• We do not delete your account or your settings when a subscription ends.
• If a renewal payment fails, your access may revert to the free tier until payment succeeds.

We may change our prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we will give you reasonable notice before a renewal at a new price so that you can cancel first if you prefer.

7. What we do not promise

AMI’s suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence. They can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, or inappropriate for your situation, and they are not professional, legal, medical, financial or career advice. You are responsible for what you say and do in an interview. Always use your own judgement.

Speech recognition is imperfect and will sometimes mis-hear. Answer quality depends on the AI models available to us, and we may change or replace the underlying models at any time in order to keep the service working or to improve it.

AMI depends on your internet connection and on third-party services. We aim to keep it available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The overlay is designed not to be captured by common screen-sharing software. We cannot guarantee that it is undetectable in every application, configuration or future version of that software, and you should not rely on it as a guarantee. The application includes a self-check so you can test the behaviour yourself.

8. Intellectual property

AMI and everything in it remain ours. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it for as long as these terms are met. The text you enter, and the answers generated for you, are yours to use as you see fit.

9. Liability

AMI is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, nor for lost opportunities, lost earnings, lost data, or the outcome of any interview, application, assessment or hiring decision. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms removes any right you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be removed. If a term here conflicts with such a right, that right prevails.

10. Ending this agreement

You may stop using AMI at any time, and cancel any subscription as described in section 6. We may suspend or end your access if you materially break these terms — in particular section 4 — or where we must do so by law. If we end your access without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any period you have paid for.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice by email or in the application before it takes effect. Continuing to use AMI after that means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you may cancel.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Lebanon, and its courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live if the law gives you that right.
